TOSCA - Towed Underwater System for mine detection

The purpose of the underwater towed system TOSCA is to ensure a quick and regular surveillance of channels or straits against mine threat.
The vehicle has a very high dynamic performance including auto-controlled altitude, anti-pitch steering, anti-roll steering and high overall stability. It is operational since 1992.

Main characteristics & performance:

Tow Speed: 2 to 10 knots
Depth: 10 – 200 metres
Payload: any type of side scan sonar up to 700 kg in air
Dimensions: L 3500m, D 500 mm
